This week, you’ll read a critical analysis of war photography from Susan Sontag. She explores the ideological ways images, specifically photographs, are seen and interpreted. Now, with the advent of technology and the ability to alter images digitally, we run up against some important ethical questions about how images are altered. This was a great article by esteemed critic David Levi Strauss that explores that phenomenon and reminds us that alterations have always been around since the inception of the medium.
